How to Place an Order for a David Haxton Guitar

CHOOSING A GUITAR

Usually I have a few guitars in stock. To find out what is available, please call me at (206) 723-9328, or e-mail me at david@davidhaxtonguitars.com. I will make every effort to build a custom guitar to meet your preferences based on my two current models. The standard price for a basic guitar starts at $2,400. However, most guitars will cost $2,600-2,800 because of a bound fret board and a fancy rosette. Any additional features you choose will raise the price further. If you are considering customized additions to a basic guitar, I suggest that you read through my construction notes to review the various wood options.

Basic guitar design includes:

  • Simple rosette
  • Wood bindings
  • Mahogany, plain walnut or plain maple body and neck
  • Sitka spruce top
  • Rosewood fingerboard, round position markers, non-bound
  • Schaller chrome tuners
  • Can be made as a right or left handed guitar
  • Hard shell case

Customized additions to the basic design can include:

  • Custom rosette
  • Fancy wood bindings
  • More exotic or highly-figured woods for body and neck
  • Highly-figured spruce (or other wood choice) top
  • Bound ebony fingerboards, shaped position markers, more inlay
  • Tuners of choice
  • Custom case

ORDERING AND PAYMENT

A deposit of 20% is requested on orders of all standard models.

For instruments requiring a considerable amount of custom work, a 50% deposit is requested.

Deposits can be made by certified check, bank draft or personal check. Payment of deposit initiates the chronological placement of the order. After deposit is made, no price increases are passed on to the customer. The approximate waiting period for an instrument at this time is 3-4 months unless another time frame, such as in the case of a highly customized or inlaid instrument, is arranged. The customer will be notified before shipping. The balance will be due C.O.D. upon completion.

Payments for in stock guitars can be made by certified check, bank draft or personal check. They will be shipped within two business days from receipt of final payment.

SHIPPING

All instruments are shipped UPS unless purchaser makes a special request. Purchaser will pay cost of shipping and a 1% handling fee. All instruments are packed with the string tension slack. The case is packed in an instrument-shipping box with protective packing materials. The guitar is shipped fully insured.

SALES TAX

Sales tax will be charged if you are a resident of the State of Washington.
