Classical Guitar Strings
The three most important things to keep in mind when considering which classical guitar strings to purchase are tension, string material and the quality of the string. A less quantitative element that you will definitely want to keep in mind is the comfort level you experience with the guitar strings you use. Even if they are of the highest quality, they won’t do you much good if you’re uncomfortable playing with them. It will most certainly be detrimental to your playing style. If you are looking for a new guitar string solution then you may wish to purchase a couple of different types of strings the first time so that you can get a feel for them and decide which one works best for you. Of course, you will have to spend a little bit more money since you’ll be buying several types, but being able to discover an optimal set of strings is well worth what it can do for your playing ability.
As for tension, you will see that there are different ratings of tension for different classical accessories. You can find low tension strings (moderate or light), normal or medium tension, and hard or high tension strings. Sometimes, the level of tension you choose may simply depend on the strength of your fingers. If you have smaller fingers and hands then you may wish to go with the low tension strings since they may allow for more flex with less strength. But if you tend to play faster and with more passion then you may wish to opt for the high tension strings.
